Specialist Auctions
Keys holds a full programme of specialist sales throughout the year, ranging from our ever-popular Modern Art and Design sales to our thrice-annually East Anglian Sales, acknowledged to be the leading marketplace nationally for East Anglian Artists and subjects. Other regular specialist sales include Medals & Militaria, Toys, Garden Furniture & Reclamation, Ornithological & Wildlife Art, and so on.
Books & Ephemera Auctions
Keys is acknowledged as one of the leading Book Auctions outside of London, holding bi-monthly sales of all types of literature, Ephemera, and works on paper.
Weekly Auctions of Antiques, Art & Collectables
Keys Weekly Auctions have been held on the same site in Norfolk since 1953, and typically comprise one saleroom of Antiques, Collectables & Art and one saleroom of Modern Furnishings and Household Effects as removed from local properties. These sales have over the years become a social, as well as economic, fixture in the local calendar!
Commercial Asset Sales
Keys holds regular (monthly) sales including cars & commercial vehicles, plant & machinery, tools, surplus retail stock, and other commercial assets. Please contact us for sale dates.
On Site & Country House Sales
Keys offers the facility to hold in-situ auctions for house contents or commercial assets where required.
Sadly, one of life’s certainties is that it will come to an end at some point, and at that time estate Executors are often required to produce a formal written valuation for HMRC. These should always be prepared by professional (and specialist, where required) valuers in an HMRC-accepted format; producing a full, transparent and acceptable valuation initially can save executors much work and expense at a later date.
Our prices for Probate Valuations are highly competitive, and our reports comply with the latest HMRC recommendations. We can assist not only with the formal valuation but also with identifying individual bequests, and offering secure storage for valuable items where required.
We can, of course, also assist with sale of bequests and disposal of property contents as required in due course; each probate client is allocated their own individual direct contact within our staff to ensure that they are helped in every way we can.
The variety of sales which Keys hold, and the breadth of items which we can sell across all of our departments, mean that we are ideally placed to handle complete property contents clearance, with all arrangements being handled in-house and with one single point of contact for the client (including clearance of the few items which we are unable to sell) and time-sensitive clearance and sale of goods.
We offer a free initial consultation and estimate for all potential property clearances, and our bespoke approach means that we work with the client to ensure that their goals and objectives are fulfilled, whether it be for a solicitor who needs a clearance and sale progressed within a tight time frame whilst retaining full transparency for their clients, or for more complex sale needs, up to on-site Country House Sales where appropriate.
Collectors and Householders should always ensure that they have an accurate record and up-to-date valuation of all items in their collection and/or home, which should be provided and maintained by professional valuers to ensure that any future problems with loss adjusters may be avoided should the unthinkable occur.
Keys offer a fully professional Insurance Valuation Service, performed by qualified and experienced Valuers, including full documentation and photography of items listed and secure storage of the information within our own archives for immediate reference should this be required.
Due to the changes in values which can take place, especially in the Arts and Antiques market, we recommend that insurance valuations are updated at least every five years to ensure that cover levels are maintained at the correct level.
Keys has dedicated staff to attend to the requirements of private collectors and estate administrators who wish to offer full or part-collections or property contents by auction, offering an end-to-end bespoke personal selling service.
