A large work by contemporary British artist James McQueen (born 1977) is one of the star lots in Keys Fine Art Auctioneers’ two day Fine Sale (Wednesday 26th and Thursday 27th March).
The work, measuring 153cm x 102cm, is one of a series born from McQueen’s admiration of vintage books. Rooted in the Pop Art movement of the 1960s, the works convey the illusion of the patina of well-read volumes.
The picture, ‘Everybody Lies’, has a pre-sale estimate of £10,000-£15,000.
Keys’ Fine Sale also features a set of six limited edition giclee prints by Bob Dylan on archive mould-made paper from his 2023 ‘The Beaten Path’ series, each numbered 129/295 and signed in the margin in graphite. Being sold as a set, they have a pre-sale estimate of £5,000-£8,000.
