A fascinating collection of James Bond film memorabilia including artists contracts and merchandising mandates from the Roger Moore era, a guitar signed by the members of Coldplay, and a rare first edition Spice World book signed by all five members of the Spice Girls are among more than 120 show business and popular culture items being auctioned in Norfolk next week.
Keys Auctioneers and Valuers’ Popular Culture, Music, Film and Sporting Memorabilia Sale on Wednesday 8th February also includes a number of sports-related items, including a 1930s/40s Norwich City metal canary mascot and a Manchester united football shirt signed by Ryan Giggs.
A photograph of country singer Johnny Cash backstage at a 1964 Beatles concert, signed by both Cash and the Swedish photographer Jan Olofsson, is expected to fetch between £700 and £1,000, whilst a limited edition print of the iconic ‘cow’ picture which formed the album cover to Pink Floyd’s 1970 LP Atom Heart Mother, signed by the world-renowned photographer Storm Thergerson, has a pre-sale estimate of £800-£1,000.

“There is a growing market for memorabilia from the world of popular culture, music, films and sport,” said Emily Ayson, Keys’ popular culture expert.
“In particular, people like to collect items relating to their own youth, which is why we see a wide range of celebrity memorabilia coming to market, from Roger Moore, Johnny Cash and Pink Floyd to more recent stars such as The Spice Girls and Coldplay.
“Buyers for this sale will be bidding from all over the UK and from overseas, but there is sure to be more local interest in the metal Norwich City canary mascot, which dates from the 1930s or 1940s. It is a little battered, but with a pre-sale estimate of £100-£150, we are sure that there will be more than one City fan who will want to add it to their collection.”
The Keys Popular Culture, Music, Film and Sporting Memorabilia Sale takes place on Wednesday 8th February at the firm’s Aylsham salerooms, and online. Full details of every lot in the sale can be found at www.keysauctions.co.uk.
